The symbol of Upper Svaneti, one of the toughest summits of the Caucasus. Unpredictable and dangerous, with casualties every year: climbers underestimate the challenge and attempt to ascend it without proper training, gear and guiding. Amazing view of the Georgian and the Russian Main Caucasus and Svaneti Ranges.
Day 0 – Arrive in Mestia.
Day 1 – Drop-off to Mazeri. Hike to Mazeri waterfall plateau (2400 m). Camp.
Day 2 – Ascent of Ushba glacier to Georgian bivouac. Camp at 3500 m.
Day 3 – Ascent to upper plateau. Camp at 4000.
Day 4 – Relaxation.
Day 5 – Summit ascent. Return to camp. Camp at 4000 m.
Day 6 – Return to Mazeri, pick-up and drive back to Mestia.
Day 7 and 8 – Spare days in case of bad weather.
