The perfect white pyramid of Tetnuldi is not technically very difficult to climb. There are some steep slopes, snow ascents, a glacier and vertical drops on both sides of the path. The reward is a fantastic view of Ushba, Banguriani, the Bezengi wall, Elbrus and a dozen more summits of the Great Caucasus.
Day 0 – Arrive in Mestia
Day 1 – Acclimatization hike from Mestia (1450 m) to Koruldi (2500 – 2800 m)
Day 2 – Drop-off by car at 3000 m. Hike to 3700 m in 4-5 hours. Camp.
Day 3 – Acclimatization / ice practice. Camp at 3700 m.
Day 4 – Summit ascent. Early rise and start off at 3 am. Total distance for the day: 9 km.
Day 5 – Relaxation. Camp at 3700 m. Optional: descent and pick-up by car.
Day 6 – Spare day in case of bad weather.
