A very scenic tour from the valley of Nakra (50 km from Mestia) with amazing views of all Nakra valley, summits Shtavler, Kvarmash and the Svaneti range, and – in good weather – his majesty Elbrus, the tallest mountain of the Caucasus and of Europe at 5642 m. You drive uphill past the furthermost houses of Nakra, then past the pastures and forest, then the final ascent up the slopes of Mt Tsalgmyl to the alpine pastures at 2300 m. If you take a 1-hour walk uphill, you will be rewarded by views of Enguri valley and Tavrari’s summer pastures.
