Lakhiri and Tsvirmi

This trip will take you about 15 -18 km into the depths of Svaneti. The first stop is village Lakhiri, where 18 ancient towers set up a scene worthy of the Game of Thrones. The car will wait for you on the main road, while you take the route up through village Zhamushi and then straight on and up through village Lakhiri. After you stroll around the streets, you can return to the main square and take the street going another few meters up in the direction of the pine forest and to the left – for a view of the entire ensemble. After you return, the car will take you further and higher up Ughviri pass. From the pass a forest road will take you to Tsvirmi. It is 3 km and it is best to do it on foot for a better view of Mt. Tetnuldi, surrounding valleys and arrive in village Tsvirmi. The driver will either wait for you at the pass or pick you up in Tsvirmi – whatever you prefer. You can also choose to go all the way by car. In this case don’t miss the panorama from Archangel’s church (see photo).
