Guli

Trail from: Mazeri

Archangel’s church of Guli is located right over Mazeri, it used to be part of a small settlement, and you can still see the ruins of big Svan manors nearby. From the church the trail goes towards Guli pass (3000 m) between the valleys of Mestia and Mazeri. A few hundred meters below the pass the horse trail turns into the Gulichala gorge and in good weather you can admire Ushba from very close. The trail ends at the basecamp of one of the alpinist routes to South Ushba summit, marked by a memorial stone to perished alpinists and rescuers.
